God’s dreams come true

We tell ourselves that heaven is the place where our dreams come true.  We imagine all the wonderful joys that become ours in heaven.   Joining loved ones and heroes.  Relief from evil oppression.  Rest from strife and stress—purest peace. Purest love. To be sure, we’ll find these things in heaven.   But our culture’s emphasis on our personal comfort and on the satisfaction of individual rights, needs and desires leads many to think of heaven as a personal wish grantor.  Everything I want, I get in heaven (big emphasis on “I”).

In reality, heaven is the place where God’s dreams come true.  His dreams are much grander than ours.  Sure we get what we need, but we get so much more.  We get what God has dreamed for us and share in what he’s dreamed for himself.  It can only mean the most wondrous joys for us that far exceed what we could dream or imagine!
